-
Targeting Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia with Imatinib and Glycyrrhizic Acid Combination TherapyExamining the efficacy of an imatinib and glycyrrhizic acid combination treatment on chronic myelogenous leukemia cell lines. As well as examining the mechanism of action of glycyrrhizic acid.
-
Technical Mentorship of FIRST Tech Challenge TeamMercer undergraduates formed and mentored a robotics team comprised of high school students from the Macon area.
-
The Brain Doesn't Lie? Neuroscience Imaging in Malpractice TrialsThis experiment explored the influence of neuroimaging evidence and patient deficit on juror decision-making in a medical malpractice trial.
-
The Design and Application of a Flow Chamber to Study Leukocyte Migration In VitroOur team (Blake Chester, Madison Judd, Connor Reed) were tasked by Dr. Alireza Sarvestani to design and build a flow chamber device to study the effect the endothelial cell wall rigidity has on leukocyte migration.
-
The Effect of Desire for Revenge and Negative Reciprocity on Customer Directed CWBCustomer service employees will experience counterproductive work behaviors (CWB) when mistreated by customers. The mechanism we examine to explain the customer-directed CWBs is the desire for revenge.
-
The Effects of a College Volunteer Program on Bolingreen Health & Rehabilitation Center ResidentsA volunteer program was created, pairing Mercer students and nursing home residents, to fight the prevalence of elderly depression and increase social interaction.
-
Thermal Conductivity ApparatusThe goal of this project is to provide our client with an apparatus that will accurately measure the thermal conductivity of different materials while minimizing the heat loss from the system.
-
Thermochemical Investigation of the Ligand Exchange of DDPA for Oleate on CdSe Quantum DotsThis poster displays the thermodynamic analysis of the ligand exchange between oleate-CdSe quantum dots (QDs) and dodecyl phosphonic acid (DDPA). This ligand exchange was quantified using isothermal calorimetry (ITC).
-
Thermodilution Flow MeterThe goal of this project is to design a device capable of outputting the average flow rate and used in lab demonstrations. The purpose of a thermal dilution flow meter is to simulate blood flow, specifically cardiac output, by observing the average flow rate of the water through the tube.
-
"Through the Looking Glass": Translating Academic Writing Practices into Creative Writing ContextsUsing Mercer’s academic writing modules as a model, “Through the Looking Glass” works to describe the creative writing process for students from a student point of view.
-
Touch3D Yearbook for the BlindThis project aims to deliver a 3D printed, touchable yearbook to the Georgia Academy of the Blind as well as develop the most optimal materials, design, and method of construction to continue improving upon the 3D Yearbook for each coming year’s graduating class.
-
Transport and Toxicity of Methylmercury in a Placental Cell LineThis poster demonstrates a study conducted to evaluate the toxicity of methylmercury on placental syncytiotrophoblasts and characterize the mechanisms by which methylmercury is taken up into these cells.
-
Understanding the Nature of Glycyrrhizic Acid in Breast Cancer TreatmentModulation of HA metabolisms, both production and cleavage, by BC provides for a protective environment preventing the cells from therapy induced cell death or apoptosis. We suggest that inhibition of HA degradation by HYAL may be key in limiting the migration and progression of breast cancer.
-
Union Formation Amongst College Undergraduate Students: A Study of Attitudes and BehaviorsThis study examines attitudes and behaviors toward union formation among college students. This study analyzed how the following variables influence attitudes and behaviors toward union formation: (1) family structure, (2) religiosity, (3) political ideology, (4) future educational/career pursuits, (5) degree type, (6) relationship status, and (7) various demographic variables.
-
Universal Back Brace for Pediatric Patients with ScoliosisOur team will introduce an alternative design for a scoliosis back brace that allows for an adjustable and mobile brace that will aid in the corrected gait and posture of the patient while alleviating pain.
-
Universal Prosthetic for Forefoot AmputationsIn this project I designed and built a universal prosthetic for patients with forefoot amputations.
-
Universal Robotics PlatformThe Universal Robotics Platform is a Senior Design project with the goal of modifying a self-balancing scooter (aka hoverboard) into a robotics education platform.
-
Urban Design as Cause of Death? Relationships between Crosswalks and Pedestrian Safety in MaconWe examined physical features around streets in order to discern whether physical features such as a lack of crosswalks may contribute to pedestrian deaths in Macon. We conducted a systematic observation of several locations across the city of Macon.
-
Using Deep Convolutional Neural Networks to Reconstruct Cosmic Ray EventsThe goal of this study to evaluate and assess the use of Convolutional Neural Networks in the reconstruction of Cosmic Ray Events.
-
Using Image Processing and Machine Learning to Assist in Breast Cancer DetectionIn this project, image processing is used to create a framework for automatically detecting breast cancer in histopathology slides.
